Subterranean Termites are very prevalent in Florida, in fact, there are 13 to 14 termite colonies for every 1 acre of land. Subterranean Termites have the largest colonies and are known to cause an extreme amount of damage to a home, which can be very costly and inconvenient for the homeowner. Out of all the different termite types, Subterranean Termites cause the most damage worldwide. Because these termites are so destructive, we at South Country Pest Control, Inc. use a termiticide with the active ingredient Fipronil that will exterminate the entire termite colony. Using a liquid barrier soil treatment, our thorough Termite control will help ensure that your home is protected from Subterranean Termites.
What Type of Termite Guarantees Do We Offer?
We offer 2 different types of guarantees for Subterranean Termites. We have our Total Protection Guarantee which includes repair and retreatment for any new live activity and damage. We also have our Service Guarantee which offers retreatment for any new live activity. Both guarantees include an annual inspection to ensure that our treatment is working, and no new termite activity developed. How do you know which guarantee your home will qualify for? The first step would be to schedule a free inspection to determine if there is any active or pre-existing termite activity and/or damage to the home. We also take a few things into consideration like, how the home is constructed, adjacent patios or potential obstructions, and any existing conditions that may be conducive to Termite activity. Next, we would schedule to perform our initial termite treatment. We apply our liquid termite treatment directly to the soil around the home and can issue a 10-year guarantee to most qualifying homes.
Total Protection Guarantee (Repair and Retreatment): This guarantee provides protection against new live infestation and new damage caused by subterranean termites. If any infestation and damage occur in the described property within an active contract period, we will retreat the property and arrange for necessary repairs or replacement of the damage at our expense. We’ve got you covered!
Service Guarantee (Retreatment Only): This guarantee allows for retreatment only should any live infestation occur during an active contract period. Every house is different, with a variety of varying factors that will determine if this this plan is right for the home. Typically homes with existing termite damage and/or homes with extremely favorable termite conducive conditions will qualify for this guarantee.
Flying Termite or Flying Ant?
How to identify: Termites have certain members of their colonies called reproductives. These reproductives are winged termites, also known as swarmers. Swarmers leave their colonies and fly to different locations to establish new colonies. These winged termites are often mistaken for flying ants. Some of the most common areas where dead swarmers or swarmer wings are found is on interior windowsills or on the floor near a window. These swarmers are attracted to the light as they are trying to exit the home to get to the soil. There are several identifiable characteristics that can help distinguish which is a termite and which is an ant. The easiest and most common way is by examining the antenna, body, and wings.
